Program Details:

The literacy program is designed to help individuals achieve personal goals including independence, education, training and employment for all Deafblind adults. The program offers one-on-one and two-on-one instruction. It is the only program of its kind in Canada for Deafblind adults. Learners will have access to various technical devices such as CCTV, ZoomText, magnifier, large print notes, Braille, tactile pictures etc. The program also offers various modes of communication such as ASL, tactile ASL, hand over hand, etc. Hours of instruction are flexible to accommodate individual needs. Classes offered on a year-round basis. Prior to being accepted into the literacy program, the individual must be a client of CNIB.
